‘Tis the season

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

I met up with Fred on Saturday to work on some cover art for his Flawless Mask CD. I’m not sure whether he’ll use this one or not, but I really love it. It’s a new look for me: hobo Aubrey!

SO WHO’S IN THE MOOD TO DO A LJ CHRISTMAS [...]

a watched pot never smiles

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

This rolled over me as I was trying to get to sleep last night:
Summoning happiness, like sleep and orgasms, is counteractive. All only come as a reward for reverie focused elsewhere.
We have no pens in this house, so I was certain I’d forget it by morning, but lo and behold I didn’t.
Back to Thomas Hardy! [...]

This was our turkey! I wish I’d taken a photo of the brine we soaked it in, because that was even prettier. It was full of fresh sage, thyme, oregano, oranges, lemons, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and rosemary from our rosemary tree (featured in the prior photo, with the yellow teddy bear sitting in its [...]

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

The table is set, and the turkey is in the oven. Our guests will arrive in an hour or two.

This will be the first Thanksgiving I have hosted. I feel so all grown up.

the calm before the storm

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

It isn’t as clear as it could be, but I actually managed to capture leaves blowing in the wind! Something I’ve been trying to do for awhile. I swear, if there was a way to strap my camera to the top of my car with a remote-controlled shutter, I would so do it.

Kodachrome

I haven’t done any modeling in a long time, mostly because I feel like I’ve gained too much weight to continue pursing it pro-actively. That doesn’t mean I’ll turn down opportunities that fall into my lap, though. Well… there’s a recent GMU graduate on my friends list who’s pictures I love looking at. He [...]

hidden pond

Monday, November 14th, 2005

I went to Hidden Pond in Springfield this Friday. It’s right near the Whole Foods market I used to shop at, but I never noticed it before because it’s a secret only revealed by the LocalHikes website, and now by my camera.

…more
I’ve been worried about money recently. Nothing horrible [...]

I’ll show you my bookmarks if you’ll show me yours

Friday, November 4th, 2005

You’ll notice a new addition to the “links” box in the left hand column of my journal. It points to my Del.icio.us bookmarks. If I read an interesting article or find a cool website, it’ll go in there. I think this is an ideal way for people to share things that catch their eye on [...]

59 degrees

Thursday, November 3rd, 2005

Some photos I took of the still so delightful Fairfax on the way to and from the gym. I’m always tempted to stop and swing on the swings at this park. I used to live right by it, and do so a lot.

I’m guessing the flag was at half mast [...]

the madding crowd

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2005

Six Flags was a bust. It was way too expensive for not enough fun. The haunted house made me feel like I was back at avalon. Only difference is you didn’t have to play dead after these face-painted teenagers grabbed you enough times.
I got a couple neat looking photos of the setting sunbeams hitting [...]
